If you receive a request for a high PR website:
Check the backlinks of the website.
There should be a considerable number of backlinks to reach such a high PR.
If you get request from lower PR sites be sure that there are a number of
quality backlinks before you agree to do so

Go to websites like Dig
Pagerank and add the site in there to check for the real Pagerank
If the Pagerankis good it will show Green.
If it is a fake Pagerank it will show Orange
Avoid linking to sites of this nature!

Type URL of your website to get complete detailed information about quality and
quantity of backlinks pointing to your website.
It will show you "Anchor, Text, Pagerank, Total Outbound Links" on that
page, and Nofollow flag for each of your inbound link available.
